Skwirrel II

The Skwirrel II enables you to do things that are completely self-evident to able-bodied children. Scooting about with friends, buy an ice-cream, having a meal at the table with all the rest, cuddling your pet, or picking your favourite DVD in the toyshop and getting it from the shelf yourself.

Children discover their own world. They walk, sit, crawl around, stand and climb. They move to different heights and go to different places. Naturally, so do handicapped children. The philosophy of Huka’s Skwirrel II is based on exactly these needs: “Provide options for maximum mobility to handicapped children.” Give them a wheelchair to move from A to B (horizontal mobility).

Add the possibility to move to different heights (vertical mobility). This is exactly what the Skwirrel II offers: 3D mobility. The Skwirrel II enables you to do things that are completely self-evident to able-bodied children. Scooting about with friends, buy an ice-cream, having a meal at the table with all the rest, cuddling your pet, or picking your favourite DVD in the toyshop and getting it from the shelf yourself. And if you want to relax for a bit, just tilt the chair to the relax position to listen to music. If you can do all this by yourself, you have greater independence and more fun in your everyday life.

Children grow. For that very reason a good sitting posture is very important. It contributes to the daily well-being of your child. This is another feature of the Skwirrel II that has been given extra attention. The Skwirrel II is equipped with the Colibri seat system – a modular system that can be adjusted to fi t the body size of your child perfectly.

Seat width and depth are adjustable. Seat and backrest cushions provide excellent sitting comfort. If you want, the seat system can also be fi tted with lumbar supports that provide an even better posture and body support.

The various optional adjustable head supports offer comfort and further support. The footrest has been positioned between the front wheels, allowing a 90° knee angle. If your child wants to use a different seat system or customized seats, it can be mounted easily onto the seat frame base.
